Chiddingly now featured in Sussex Life with Picasso connections, is a quiet part of Sussex, ideal for walking, golf and riding. The historic town of Lewes with its antique shops and famous Bills Restaurant, is 20 minutes away by car. The Opera House at Glyndebourne is only 10 minutes away and Charleston Farmhouse, home to the Bloomsbury set (Vanessa Bell and Virginia Wolf) nearby. The village of Chiddingly, mentioned in the Doomsday book, has a scenic cricket ground and is famous for its annual music festival, this year celebrating 30 years. The lovely, historic church and Six Bells pub are a walk away from Netherwood Lodge. Farley Farm was the home of the world-renowned photographer Lee Miller and Sir Roland Penrose famous surreal artists. Picasso was once a guest. Berwick Church attracts many visitors with its famous Murals.

Eastbourne, Brighton, & Sussex Universities are within easy reach.

Delicious, home-made meals are available on request and there is a log fire in the drawing room during the winter months. Guests are invited to enjoy the lovely garden, which is part of the National Garden Scheme for Charity.
